Public-records requests to the sheriff must be in writing and should use the sheriff's request form. The form cites Idaho Code 74-103 for a three-working-day grant or denial response for Idaho residents. Copy, processing, redaction, employee-time, media, and shipping fees may apply. Requests for photos or videos require an unopened 16GB thumb drive, a $2 processing fee for each thumb drive, and return shipping paid in advance. Pending criminal defendants must use discovery for their own pending case records, and victims in pending cases are directed to the prosecutor.
